I can use a Lutron Caseta Vacancy Detector to turn off my Lutron Caseta Light Switches as soon as everyone leaves a room without needing Turn Off, but I would still need something else to automatically turn on the switch. The only smart home Vacancy Detectors I know are from Lutron. Turn Off would begin when a human is no longer detected by the Occupancy Sensor. Ecobee and Abode make occupancy sensors for HomeKit. You can sit motionless in the room and the Occupancy/Vacancy sensor will still detect you. A Vacancy Sensor detects when all humans have left. An Occupancy Sensor detects when a human is present. If you want a sensor to detect when humans are present or when they are not present, you need an Occupancy Sensor or a Vacancy sensor. The timer starts again after no more motion is detected. If you begin moving again before the timer ends, the timer stops. If you sit down motionless, the timer starts. The Turn Off timer starts as soon as the Motion Sensor reports no more movement detected, even if you’re in the room. Motion Sensors detect when things are moving, human or not.
